AELP can grant certifications for high voltage equipment electrical transmission and distribution power equipment (above 1000 V ac, and 1500 V dc).

Type Test Certificate issued by AELP contains a record of proving tests carried out in accordance with a recognized Standard and STL Guides valid at the time of the test, and the relevant ratings assigned by the manufacturer are endorsed by AELP. In addition, the object’s technical drawings are verified and the condition of the object after the test is assessed and recorded. The Certificate contains a description of the object tested, and sufficient outline drawings and data sheets to represent the equipment tested, and where applicable the reference numbers of all drawings submitted to identify the essential parts of the equipment tested.

Type Test Certificate signifies that the object meets all the requirements of the named subclauses of the Standard. The certificate is applicable to the object tested only. AELP Is responsible for the validity and the contents of the certificate. The responsibility for conformity of any object having the same type references as the one tested rest with the manufacturer. Detailed rules on types of certifications are given in AELP certification procedure. The six basic Type Test Certificate issued by AELP are as follows:

• Type Test Certificate of Complete Type Test
• Type Test Certificate of Dielectric Performance
• Type Test Certificate of Temperature Rise Performance
• Type Test Certificate of Short-Circuit / Making and Breaking Performance
• Type Test Certificate of Switching Performance
• Type Test Certificate of Internal Arc Performance

A Type Test Certificate is accompanied of a record of proving tests.Verification of drawings and condition assessment is included in this document. The record of proving tests is named as 'Type Test Statement' or 'Type Test Report' depending on the AELP laboratory member.
